ContactProject Description
On behalf of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC), Swiss Economics evaluated the Confederation's ownership strategy for Swisscom.
According to the Confederation's Corporate Governance Guideline 17, the corporate governance of federally owned companies and the public interest in the tasks they perform must be regularly re-evaluated. In the case of Swisscom, the current majority holding in the company must be justified by a clear public interest and must be better suited to fulfil the public interest than other governance approaches. In addition, the content of the Confederation's current ownership strategy towards Swisscom should be reviewed.
