A whitepaper published by "SpitalBenchmark" estimates the financial losses of hospitals due to COVID-19 to range between CHF 1.7 and 2.9 billion by the end of 2020. As part of this project, the financial losses are estimated more precisely. More specifically, the losses caused by behavioral changes and those caused by measures introduced by the federal council shall be differentiated and estimated speparately.
Methods
- identify affected costs and revenues of hospitals
- differentiation of causal relations (e.g. between measures of the Feder Council and behavioral changes)
- quantitative estimation with panel data
